Sam Adams was.
a paranormal researcher
for the Cosmos Institute


one day he was
having breakfast at the
Waffle Hut and Eaterly

enjoying the Lumberjack special
waffles, bacon, eggs, hash browns
lots of hot coffee to wash it down...


in Klamath Falls.
a run-down town
in Southern Oregon
that had seen better days.

there were rumors of
strange things occurring
in that backwater town
The rumors had reached his desk.
and he was sent to investigate.

He had not been there.
since he left after high school
as Klamath Falls
was a nothing burger.
of a town back then

He gets up and walks.
down a dark corridor
to go to the restroom

and opens the door.
and sees a spinning wheel.
a portal to another world

He was transfixed.
read the note on the door.

“This portal opens to another world.
enter at your own risk.
It is a one-way ticket.
for man men only.”

he jumped through.
and was never seen again.

his disappearance
just another strange thing
that occurred.
in that dismal dark
backwater town.
