A Sonnet for Thanksgiving |
Author's notes: ▼ A Florida Thanksgiving In the Sunshine State, where the orange trees sway, Thanksgiving brings warmth in its own special way. We gather with loved ones beneath the sun's glare, With laughter and stories in the soft coastal air. Grandsons, four in number, in merriment, unite, Their laughter echoed under the sun so bright. With the rustle of palm leaves and the ocean's quiet hum, We count our blessings for all that has come. The table is graced with the season's best fare, We sit with our friends, love and joy in the air. Few leaves change here, of that, it's true, But the bugs lessen, and the coolness woos you, too. In Florida's embrace, we find a space so divine, We give our thanks for the family, the feast, and the time. |
