This is just the introduction. I'm posting because I've been lazy.
Grimsley manor sits at the end of a winding road in the Old Forest. Its precise geographic location is unimportant.

When best friends Gracy and Sandra found it one Sunday morning, they stared at the colossal manor.

"What do you suppose it is?" Sandra asked, tugging on Gracy's shirt.

"I'm not sure," Gracy answered. But Sandra heard the uneasiness in Gracy's voice. As she glanced up at the manor, she remembered the horrid tales surrounding the dilapidated maner. The trees around it grew branches inside the house. Suddenly, a darkness loomed over. And a flash of lightning filled the sky; the thunder shook the ground. Gracy could see small rocks passing in front of her like ants fleeing from a foot. She took it as an omen.

"Let's not stick around to find out." Gracy started back up the road. She didn't turn her back to the house -- she dared not. As she ran, Sandra's figure became smaller and smaller. But so did the trees. That's because Sandra did not run with Gracy.

"Sandra!" Gracy bellowed out to her friend. "Come on!"

But she didn't move. Sandra stood there, frozen. Gracy feared her friend had become transfixed by the old house--as the tales had warned about.

She cried out for her friend one last time: "Sandra! Let's go!"

Still nothing. "Come on!!" Her face filled with tears. She feared her friend was lost.

The house's front doors swung open and a long rug came out and wrapped itself around Sandra, like a tongue.

Gracy fell to her knees and covered her eyes, sobbing. She heard the large doors swing back on its hinges, close, and lock.

When Gracy uncovered her eyes, Sandra was gone.
