These colors have divided us.
I cannot help how I was born,
the color of my skin.
I only know I did no wrong.
How can that be a sin?

Yet there are those who point at me
and say I am to blame.
They tell me I’m the one at fault
and I should bear the shame.

We have to end this war somehow.
Yes, I call it a war.
These colors have divided us
for centuries and more.

Why can’t we look beyond the hues,
these skin tones that we wear?
Why is there so much fear and hate,
this conflict everywhere?

We need put a halt to this,
at least we need a pause.
There is one way that may just work -
fight for a common cause.

Yes, yellow, black, white, red and brown
and all shades in between
should now unite to save the Earth,
our planet, blue and green.

For it is quickly failing us.
We’ve caused it so much wrong.
And soon we all will be at risk,
it won’t be very long.

So all of us must take a stand.
Yes, something has to give.
We must join hands to quell this threat.
That’s if we want to live.

It doesn’t matter how we look.
We all have blood of red.
If we can’t save our planet soon
we all may soon be dead.

For we have surely caused this harm.
Things are so out of whack.
Before too long the light will dim
and our world will turn black.
