A poem on the ocean and racism
Sand deep blue ocean
shells and pretty stones
clear thought for once my adhd mind silenced
waves powerful some almost clear
Does not take the sting of
who is she?
I am
what is she doing?
just unpacking a computer to study to grow
Who does she think she is unbothered by your words?
I am me authentically taking up space
the ocean still roaring in my mind
Not an acknowledgement
Not a glance that you see a professional woman
my color blinds you to that
I sigh and ignore but do I
New customers come in
voice undulation now high pitch fawning
acceptable people to you
If you saw my films, my art my work
Read my articles? Would it make a difference?
My honeymoon my right to autonomy
You keep calling over the bosses.
You want me us gone but you cant.
If you new that I write reviews would you have
peeked at my humanity.
