a poem I wrote after he changed his mind / circa 2019
You held my hand,
You kissed me,
You fucked me

Over.

I used to hold you inhale your scent like a flower
Now I'm left with memories that remind me of Sulphur.

We burned hot
We burned fast
You burned

Out

I'm a lone torch still lit in the hopes you'll come and find me,
I thought you were my twin flame
But I see now you're just an electric candle

You gave me butterflies
They've turned to moths
and they gnaw away at the softer parts of me
