A poem for when I get on my stage
Backstage always was my home.
The lights were dim,
Yet the blue: a warm welcome.

It's comforting to know,
There is no stress,
But the stress in question
Leads to the greatest joy.

It's an unexplainable feeling
When I'm finally seen.
You fear disappointment,
But the motions flow through you
Like a river through a creek,
Unstoppable,
And when you truly get into it,
It's a personal heaven.

Even when
I act not like myself,
There's a joy of expression
In every living moment,
Fair or not fair.

Science cannot explain,
I will not allow it,
It is my home:
That hardwood stage floor.

Pleasing the audience,
And hearing I did,
was a joy to my heart.
Yet sometimes I do not care.

Sometimes there's this one.
One I want to impress.
One I want to please.
One I want to just make them enjoy seeing me.
That last one... not yet.

The audience may be large,
But my gaze is probably narrow.
As long as they believe,
I believe I can do anything.
