Happy New Year!

Not just the cliché
That ends up not true
But true wishes
With the best intention
And a desire for wellness
This is what I mean

That in it you’ll be wise
To recognize what works
And persist in it till it bears fruit
And gives you peace and happiness
And the satisfaction you have always craved
This is what I mean

That in it you’ll recognize your mistakes
And correct them, not defend them
Turn from the traits that destroy friendship
And habits that delay success
Because you can, and you should
This is what I mean

That you’ll understand people better
Differentiate between friends and enemies
Understand when you’re being used
Or when you are caged
And when your happiness doesn’t matter
This is what I mean

That you won’t struggle to fit in
But recognize that you’re special
And stay where you’re appreciated
Also give credit where it’s due
Stay away from entitlement
This is what I mean

That when your love sounds insecure
It only means they love you more
And are scared of losing you
Because when they no longer care
Chances are you’re already replaced
This is what I mean

That you will have a firm standing
In whatever it is you believe in
And when it sucks the life out of you
You will be free enough to walk away
Because, what is more important?
This is what I mean

That your energy won’t go to waste
Where you plant, you will reap
Where you invest, you will earn
Nothing will break your heart
Love, business, or education
This is what I mean

That you will be refreshed
You will have no tears to hide
You will have a home of peace
You will be with friends that make you happy
You will be with a person that you love
