We can no longer ignore the shadows... A Daily Poem Grand Prize Winner (Form: Roundabout)
Shadows At The Door

"It’s helter-skelter in the streets,”
I said watching the news.
"But it's not here,
I have no fear,”
I said watching the news.

"Widows cry and children scream.
They're far away from here.”
Touching, I see
but not to me.
“They're far away from here."

Dark flames of this Satan’s spell
touch us every day.
We long for light
Yet only night
touches us every day.

We can’t turn away from what goes on
and sacrifice what's right.
We cannot yield
to what’s been revealed
and sacrifice what's right.
