Sometimes, you just have to be thankful for what it is YOU'VE got.
Thank God for NEVER EVER Leaving ME with an Empty Glass!

I have always been a winner.
I won at love – almost.
I won at politics – almost
I won at having the perfect family – almost
I won at being happy – almost
I won at learning to share – almost
I won at almost everything!
I had the dream man of my life – but he left me
I had the American family – almost
I had a great job – almost
I had a home filled with love – almost
I had standing in my community – almost
I had a following – almost
I had almost everything!

When I stop and look back over my life, my life has never been empty.
For I have always won some, and I have always had some.
Never ever have I ever had it all!
So, today, I thank God that my glass has never been empty.
Did I always want more?
Absolutely.
I have won things – money, elections, betting pools, raffles, and contests. I am a winner.
I have been in love so many times that I’ve lost count, but my one and only love has been God.

I have won at politics, elected more times than not – central committee, councilmember, and mayor.
Do I have a family? One of the best and largest in my City – four adult children, seventeen living grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren with one more on the way. I’d call that a family.
Happiness is a part of my entire life – graduating from colleges, marriage, and having children and grandchildren.

I started out life wanting to be a doctor, a lawyer, a writer, and even president.
Thank you, Lord. I have always doctored on my children, grandchildren, and even strangers.
Thank you, Lord. Although I have never practiced law, and probably never will, I have a law degree.
Thank you, Lord. I have always been able to write and express my thoughts.
And, yes, I have been president – president of too many organizations and bodies to count.

I won at learning to share my life and resources with family, friends, and associates.
I have had, won, and lost, but God has never ever left me with an empty glass!
SOMETIMES, my glass has been half full, and sometimes, my glass has been half empty…
But NEVER EVER EMPTY.

Thank you, GOD!
