A short story to highlight the changes occurring in our surroundings due to industries.
Memories 💜
It is her morning ritual to sit on one of her favorite chairs on the balcony of her small apartment. She likes to wake up early in the morning because it gives her time to collect all her strength and thoughts before mingling in this exhausting city. As she sits on her chair, she hears the sound of a cuckoo. The bird's chirping takes her back into the memories of the past. But she assumes that the past was always inseparable from the present, at least for her in this small apartment where she is the only being alive. The musical tone of a cuckoo makes her remember days of her childhood when she used to sleep with her whole family on the roof of her house, on extremely hot days in June. She always idolized the moon and stars; because of this, she didn't sleep early, and in the morning she woke up early when the calming sound of the cuckoo dispersed in the morning. Those days were full of happiness, she didn't worry to go for work, nor did she takes the people close to him earnestly just like in this city. Her thought gets distracted by the smoke evaporating from the factory, and when it catches the cuckoo's attention, she goes back to the place where she comes from. She wonders, just like the cuckoo, if it would be easy for her to go back to that place where she always belongs. But the epiphany struck her badly; back in those days, she was used to avoiding the comfort of family and did not know the value of a family who always loved her, and because of this, she fled from that place. This manic city is also like her, not realizing the beauty given to her by these beautiful birds and just making them go away by making factories that only provide smoke that one day will blacken the walls of the present and turn them into the past, and nothing will be left except regret.
