July Heat

The football fan, with his sense of humour
Was pleased to spread this little rumor

In the July heat, the next game would be choreographed
Recorded - videoed and photographed.

The players were to be shoeless
(This helps them do more, not to do less.)

The game, a contest so physical
Was now to be a merry musical!

The box office opened, tickets were sold out
Everyone wanted to see what it was about.

Excitement built up, it was all over the news
Football players dancing, not wearing any shoes?

Each spectator took a seat
Under the sun in the July heat.

The world's press was all there
Cheers and applause filled the air

The players came on - in their tutus
Frilly frills, curly curls and no shoes.

There was a football, there was a goal
There was a scoreboard up on a pole.

They played the game, people cheered more
Everyone kept checking the score

Nobody took any chances
In the football match made up of dances.

They pirouetted and they kicked
The photographers busily clicked.

At the end in the July heat,
The game was tied - no one was beat!

Both the teams had had some fun
And both the teams had won!
