Poor Jimmy

“Jimmy, what happened here?!” Mom yelled from the den door.

Jimmy came out of his room quickly and peaked around her. The room was a wreck! The furniture was moved around, the lamps on the floor and the side tables on their sides. Books and papers piled here and there. The TV was on, but the sound turned off.

“I don’t know anything about it.”

“Don’t you dare lie to me young man!” Mom said through gritted teeth.

“I’m not! Stella probably did it. I get blamed for everything!”

“Stella couldn’t move those chairs or turn over the tables! She’s only three! Where is she anyway?”

They both rushed off to find Stella. Stella crawled out from behind the sofa. “Where they going?” she said to Bibo.

Bibo laughed. “They’re looking for you,” he said back, “you better go find them, they’ll be scared if they don’t find you.”

“Can you come?” Stella asked.

“They can’t see me so it won’t help.”

“OK,” off she ran.

Bibo put the furniture back quickly, except for one small table on it’s side.

Soon the three came to the door, Mom and Jimmy looked confused.

“Who fixed it?” Jimmy said.

“Bibo!” Stella yelled, smiling.

Mom and Jimmy just looked at each other.

After that, Bibo was careful not to set up things Stella couldn’t do herself. It worked out well.

Mom and Jimmy never spoke of the incident again. Mom assuming Jimmy had done it and just blamed it on his sister.

Jimmy, knowing he hadn’t done it, kept his mouth shut. But he was never mean to his sister again, just in case.

Bibo stayed until Stella gave him up for reality. When she let him go, at twelve, Jimmy’s wife had just had a new baby girl...
