It’s Alive!

Sandy squinted at the book’s directions closely. She thought she had it. Smiling and grimacing at the same time, she took a deep breath and with a last ditch effort, she pulled the bolt down and outward. The robot came to life, she raised her arms in triumph. “It’s alive!” She found the situation funny, even hysterical. It seemed so natural. She maneuvered herself to eye level and looked at the robot right in the eye. “Don’t go anywhere…yet.” She ran to her station. The Mars rover took off at a good clip. Her twin on Earth mirroring what Sandy wanted it to do. Yes, the rovers were alive.
