A Salute to Friends

Okay, so I have to STOP going to bed before dark or taking naps during the day! Here I am up AGAIN at 2:ish in the morning and can't go back to sleep.

The sleeping, hiding, running away could easily be attributed to life, life's curb balls, and uncertainties, but I'd rather think that it's because I am avoiding depression.

Yesterday, another family member and one of my best friends growing up together in Screven, GA, died. There is so much history with this friend that I am reluctant to close the book, and thank God I did not have to make that choice. God did, and He makes no mistakes.

I do not have details, but Ruy Floyd Brown, the former wife of Eddie Lee Brown (deceased), died. Her death is hard, but it brings some peace knowing she is at rest.

We were not amigos, but we were all best friends (some of whom have also transitioned) -- Ruby Floy, Bobbie Wright, Selda Rawls, Beaulah Mae Brock, Judy Thomas, and Jackie (whose last name escapes me at the moment). We spent first grade through eighth grade together before the amigos got together in Waycross. We entered our teenage years together, and over the years, watched our lives evolve, and a few of us are no longer here.

Rest well, Ruby, you have earned. You will be missed, and yes, you will always be loved for marrying one of my favorite male cousins, Eddie Lee Brown!
