How would a child describe shoes? I believe they'd remember the noise and the activity.
Clomp, clomp in Daddy's boots I stomp.
Big, heavy green ones. Ga-lomp, ga-lomp.
In Mom's slippers I swish, swish slide.
Fur ticklish on my feet. Glide, glide.
Sister's thin thong sandals, thwack, thwack.
I waddle like a duck. Quack, quack.
Brother's sneakers thud, thunk, thump, thump.
I fumble. I tumble. Bump, bump.
In the cool mud my boots splish-splosh.
         Splatter, splatter, squishy. Squelch, squash.
Shoes are fun. I run, scamper, skip.
Spin, spin super fast. Flap, flop, flip.
