The Concert

Jenna and Therese rushed out of Jenna’s mom’s car. “ “Hurry” Jenna said, “there’s already a line and they only have so many tickets.”

The line was already winding around the corner. They rushed, but then it already wound around another corner!

“Were never gonna get tickets!” Therese whined. “We should have come earlier.”

“Come on, I’m not giving up now!” off they went.

Around the second corner the atmosphere was different. Instead of standing in a line, looking at their watches and seeming irritated at how long they were waiting like the first two legs of the line, this group was barely even in a line. Everyone was chatting and laughing.

The girls went up to the first group that seemed their age and Jenna said “This is the end.”

“Yes,” said a tall brown haired boy, “I think we’re all thinking they’re going to run out of tickets before we get there.”

“Oh dear! I really wanted to see this concert!” Therese said.

“Well, my buddy Jeff is up in the front line. He offered to get me a ticket, but I didn’t care really. I could hook you up with him so you’ll get in.”

“That would be great!” Therese said.

“I don’t need to go,” Jenna said, “Therese is the big fan. I can hold your place here if you like.”

“That would be great! I’ll be back in a minute,” off they went.

Therese and Jeff got tickets, and they ended up going to the concert together, because Jenna and Alex didn’t get tickets.

It worked out well though. Jenna and Alex got to know each other standing in line, and went on a quiet first date the night of the concert.

That relationship ended up lasting for the rest of their lives.
