With Every Passing Year
Do not fear the years my Love,
For with each and every one of them,
My love for you deepens, and swells.

Deepening, not like a rut, tried and worn, and dusty,
But like a tree sinking its roots greedily into the rich earth.
A strong foundation, to weather all that life throws at us.

Swelling, like eager fruits in a fine summer,
Giving way to a mellow, lavish and sumptuous autumn.
Shared delight in each others abundant love.

Do not hide your pretty face,
It will look none the less beautiful to me,
As it writes in lines of caring, loving, and smiles.

Grow older with me, for we both know,
That youthful playfulness and joy,
Peers out through still bright eyes.

Hold my hand, and exchange a little squeeze, for now it is enough,
That we are still together and love each other.
And so, you must not fear the years my Love.
