Even Now

Even now, when he remains distant, her spirit reaches out to surround him in love and care.

She wonders if he feels her warm embrace deep in his soul, where darkness has crept in. She wonders if he remembers what it was like to find sanctuary with her, a place that is reserved just for him.

She patiently waits for word that he is alright. Nothing matters more than the comfort she wants to give him in this moment, if only he would let her in. Her kind voice and gentle hand would make all the difference.

She misses most the day to day things, little things that made them close and gave them reprieve from the trials of life. The sharing, the kindness, and the humor brought a peace to them like nothing else they had ever known.

She wants him to know everything will be alright and they can survive any challenge that comes. Compassion and understanding has always been their strong suit, and she unselfishly offers it to him without demand or expectation.
