William Shatner on his death bed meets the angel of death
"Time's up Captain Kirk."

"Who are you? My name is William Shatner, Kirk was a fictional character."

"I am the angel of death come to take you to the other side. But I did not bring a starship because neither God nor His angels need a starship."

"Oh haha! There's no such thing as angels. God's just a feeling in my heart that comes and goes. You must be just a projection of my subconscious."

"Oh really..."

"OK, OK, you can put me down now."

"I am here to decide whether you go up or down."

"Do angels watch Sci-Fi?"

"I was assigned to watch you, and Star Trek and the T.J. Hooker series were entertaining. Star Trek was fanciful, and the biggest lies propagated by your life are in that program."

"Fanciful? Lies?"

"There is no such thing as aliens. No man is THAT good with the ladies."

"I definitely made some ladies smile. "

"Four wives and numerous affairs and you always did the love scenes in your films. In the pursuit of your own joy, you broke a lot of women's hearts."

"You keep going on about Star Trek. Being typecast as Captain Kirk did not help me much in the seventies. I was living out of a trailer."

"Such times are sent to test characters."

"Are there really no aliens out there?"

"Nope, no aliens. Even an actor is an evangelist of sorts. What do you think was the message of your life?"

"I was an evangelist for space travel and for creativity. Humankind should be getting out there and that instinct for exploration is a good thing. Better to have a vision don't you think? Seeing the earth from orbit was fantastic and I want others to have that experience also. Star Trek was a vision of people just getting on and overcoming prejudices about color and gender. T.J. Hooker was all about truth and justice. I bred some pretty amazing horses also and had three wonderful daughters. That is not a bad message, is it?"

"Yes, that was the good stuff you did."

"About the ladies, I just love them and I loved each of my wives until I didn't, that was just the way it was. I know I was not perfect, but in each case, I do not know how it could have ended differently."

"Your pride broke your first marriage. After that, you had some really bad habits."

"I am sorry... So there really is a God?"

"Yes."

"What about Nerine...her death?"

"Nerine had her own path and her own choices. This is about you."

"So what is God like? My Jewish family spoke of this remote angry figure with lots of rules."

"God is love."

"It would be a great adventure to meet Him for real. Does he live in the stars?"

"We will go through the stars on our way to Him? Are you ready?"

"Yes, I am, engage!"

"Aye, aye, Captain."
