Are our children just bad, or parents stopped parenting? Children killing, carjacking, etc
A response to a friend on why children are misbehaving in our society more than ever before. They are no longer just being children, but children carrying out heinous crimes against other children, adults, teachers, police officers, etc.

Mae Greene, kind of, but in Screven, GA, we were told what we couldn't do long before jail or prison or counseling or the police. By the time any of those came to play, OUR PARENTS had instilled in us the difference between right and wrong, the purpose of a gun/firearm, respect for our elders, the results of lying, the need to develop our spiritual lives, and the consequences of failing to grasp what they were trying to instill in us. Believe me, the consequences were instant, impactful, and meaningful.

Unfortunately, the adults were always right -- even when they were wrong -- because they were adults, and you need to respect them and stay in your place. Difficult lessons to learn, but no one was getting killed at school; no teachers were being attacked, assaulted, or getting out of the field of teaching because of disrespectful uncouth students. By the time the police showed up or got involved (with the few), everybody could point to "no home training." Mae Greene, I am not talking about the justice system. I am talking about parenting and home values. It always hurt me for someone to go home and tell my Mother that I had done something of which I already knew my Mother would disapprove.

To this day, I keep in mind and try to practice values that my Mother would be proud of and for which I can hold my head up high. The parents of some of these children are worse than their children. Mae Greene, I have worked years with ex-offenders -- young and old, and there are lessons to be learned from them.

I like children a whole lot better when they were children just being children!

How about you?
