A dark flash fiction
The last few minutes are a blur. Yet, the evening was promising to be a good one. But you know how it goes. Events are unpredictable. People change. The earth is dying. Whatever. You know the drill.
Now, she's resting on the floor. Her beautiful face submerged in the puddle of her own blood growing by the second - each excruciating second. Why does it have to take so long?
I will never hear another word from you. I will never get to see your smile, your eyes, the look on your face when I bring you a present.
No more TV dinner, staying up all night chatting about a million things, playing board games, laughing at my dumb jokes. No more pretending to be happy.
No more you.
I'll miss you, mother.
No more me.
