I saw the kill in the kindness of your face
lurking behind your ice blue gaze
coiling around your upturned lips
so I steeled myself to take the hit.
My skin crawled as your flesh touched mine
you scorched my soul as we entwined
then your hands encircled my neck with force
in your eyes, I was able to see the storm
But in the end, I understood your mindset
that you could finally help me find rest.
You saw the kindness in the kill
that got you past all thought of guilt.
