take me back to that old home
where my roots lie with ancestral bones
river bottoms and pecan trees
abundant wildlife and memories
take me back to the old homestead
where my father's father now rests his head
cold, clear rivers of rocky shore
the heart of family tradition and lore
ancient rock houses, encircled with fence
filled with the memories of life's great events
the foundation of familial congregation
a gathering place for celebration
take me back to the place for which I long
take me back to where my heart belongs
