Turk and Mazelina are brought together as mates, but have a rough road ahead. |
Mazelina was going to the nursery where pups were while parents are out on duty. It was her day to help keep an eye on the tiny beasts since she had been on patrol the last four days. As a lesser wolf, she was bound to help where she was needed. She was not the strongest pack member, but she cared as much as the last wolf. Her Alpha, Owain, was fair and gave every male and female a chance to climb the ranks. He challenged each member and their comfort zones. There was no room for animosity among friends and families. There was no need for competition. Males respected the female's strength where they lacked. Stronger members protect the weaker members and help them grow. It was a wonderful way to live. Especially after hearing how some other packs are notorious for cruelty and discrimination. "Mazelina!" She turned and grinned at the male running towards her. Josiah was a tall male with tan skin and green eyes. Mazelina liked him. Had dreams of being his mate. They had a bond ever since a young age. Every member believed they would go further. Mazelina believed it too. Tomorrow would be the day she would find out. It would be the day the Moon Goddess would bless those old enough with their mates. She was certain it was Josiah. "Aren't you supposed to be in the kitchens?" she asked with mock suspicion. He waved a hand in dismissal. "Forget that! I have great news!" "What?" she asked, laughing at his excitement. "The Alpha of Moonvalley Pack is coming here to find his mate! Apparently, he hasn't found her in all the packs he's been to." "So?" Mazelina shrugged. "No female would be deranged enough to want him as a mate. He's horrible to females! He kills children!" "So you must believe Dezra is deranged then?" Mazelina rolled her eyes. "You have got to be kidding me!" "Nope!" "Out of all the males she could have, she wants the mass murderer?" "She likes the danger behind the stories," Josiah said with crossed arms. "I don't see how females are attracted to those kinds of males." "You and me both," Mazelina sighed. They both were occupied with their Ihoughts until she caught sight of a pup running loose. "I have to go," she said hurriedly." "Catch you at dinner?" Josiah called. She held up a thumb then dove to catch the shabby blonde boy who giggled at her, clapping his hands. She gave a smile then cuddled him close, walking to the nursery. |
