(PT. 2 Edited) I should have known it was a bad idea, but that didn't stop me |
I should have known it was a bad idea, but that didn't stop me. I had to save her. No matter the risks. I sprinted through the allies, trying to catch up. I stumbled, but I got up just as fast. The same voice screaming over and over in my head shouting louder and louder. "You can save her!! Just run faster!!" I knew deep down inside of me I could not save her, but I still went faster. I had to try. I could not stop to rest even though my lungs were burning and my legs were aching. I tried to run faster, but stumbled and fell. "Ow!"I cried out. Pain shot up my leg. But I could not stop. I had to save her. I jumped up from the cold ground, pain shooting up like fireworks on my leg. I limped across the street, into a forest of trees. I ran as fast as I could, but then tripped on a tree root. I fell down, and tried to get up, but could not. I knew I could not save her. I could not save my best friend. My sister. I quietly whispered into the cold air, "I am sorry I could not have saved you, my dear sister. I tried. I really did." I laid back, closed my eyes, and breathed steadily. My heart beat was racing fast. Too fast, but I could not have cared less. My sister was kidnapped, and I could not have saved her. I should have known it was a bad idea, but that didn't stop me. |
