A poem... about lovers
The Lie

The lie feels so good while you’re lying it
You’ve got nothing for sale, but I’m buying it
The smoke blows a veil
Over my eyes, so I fail to define it
Over the years
It’s become more and more clear
That standing next to you
I disappear
Just remember that I’ll still be here
When the curtain goes down
If I don’t believe in what I can’t see…
Then how do I believe you love me?
