The Treachery of Internet Shopping |
To: John Smith Sales Director MiscStore AS Toptown 24876 SP From: R. Magritte Zanyville 98765 Belgium 23rd March 2021 Subject: Complaint regarding pipe Dear Sir, I write to you in connection with a purchase I made from your online shop on the 11th of March this year. In good faith, I ordered a pipe, with dark brown stummel and black stem (ref. Order# 3284B4CA). I received the parcel by door-to-door delivery, as agreed upon in the online check-out process. I was, however, not satisfied with the product. It was immediately clear to me that the product I received was indeed not the product I believed to have ordered. While the expected product was a three-dimentional, fully functional object intended for tobacco smoking, the product I instead received was faulty in many ways, including but not limited the following: 1.Two-dimentional image, rather than three-d. object 2.No chamber for tobacco 3.No airhole for smoke 4.Exaggerated size (approx. palm-size expected) 5.Presented in poster-format I will add, for the sake of prudency, that the colour of the stem was indeed black— as ordered, and likewise the stummel was a pleasing shade of wooden brown. This is, however, in my opinion not nearly enough to make up for all the aberrations from the expected product. Due to the above mentioned circumstances, I would like to request a replacement product—adhering to the specifications of the original order! —, or a complete refund. I would like to remind you of my rights by law as a customer, as stipulated in the Sale of Goods Act of 1979 (as am.) . Your reply is expected promptly, as I am hoping that we can reach an agreement quickly and settle this matter without further incident. You will find my address and payment details in the enclosed copy of the original sales order. Yours faithfully, Magritte Enclosures: Copy of sales order Copy of faulty product, annot. w/ complaint specs |
