A Poem of Faith

Lord, I’m trying to be grateful, I really am,
I read the scriptures, living as best I can.
But this year has been painful, I’ve lost so much,
At times it seems we are out of touch.

I look around and see so many suffering,
We’ve forgotten to share, to give our offerings.
We sit alone chatting away on our phones,
Not speaking, just texting, all while at home.

But today Lord, I found faith anew,
When my mind relaxed, I knew I still had you.
Please forgive my failings and selfish needs,
I will follow, wherever you should lead.

Signing off now, I must see to the others,
You know who I mean, my sisters and brothers.
I know I won’t tire, no matter the chore,
I will follow you through life, forevermore.
