Shopping a routine chore or a hobby?
Shopping a routine chore or a hobby?

In the past shopping for essentials use to be a routine chore where the variety of products, easy accessibility to those varieties, and credit access were limited. Well nowadays, it is more of an entertaining outing or a hobby of sorts. In my opinion, it is an endless debate of it as a positive trend, let us have a look into its different aspects.

Nowadays, shopping malls/areas serve as new hotspots for you to spend time with family and friends. This, one place caters to all your needs like - groceries, items of clothing, latest fashion accessories, shoes, bags, food courts, play areas, cosmetics, coffee shops, etc. Thus, it saves time to run to different places for various items of your need.

A person spends a lot of time shopping and also, window shopping unknowingly, as he is attracted to a variety of items which he sees on the display or to advertisements for the latest products. Many a time, one is tempted to shop for items they really do not need or is costly for their pockets, but they still do so either to boast in front of people who have accompanied them, or they give in to the shopping frenzy environment of the place. In both cases, it is not a good habit to get hold of, as either, you would land up with huge credit/debit card bills or a closet full of unwanted items.

In these places the younger crowds spend more time gossiping rather than on outdoor sports, which in a way, they are losing out on a healthy lifestyle. Shopping should be merely a part of our daily routine and not a leisure habit. It is not a very positive trend to get accustomed to.
