A dog barks and barks and barks.
The dog would not stop barking;
the tension was increasing.
My nerves like silk torn by sharp spikes;
infernal barking, never ceasing.

Confounded hound dog ever yapping!
Canine cacophony abounding,
and I upon nerve’s edge near dropping;
eardrums rubbed raw in lobo lasting.

Constant dog-din earwax stabbing;
arduous torture life enduring.
The need for scream like bombs exploding;
my mouth sewn shut by inquisition.

That animal would not stop barking;
how cruel the knives of sound assaulting!
Descendants of those wolves out prowling;
brash audio and peace purloining.

I sought another room to find
relief from plunder of the mutt.
Yet there was none—no ease I found
from yap bay growl, unending woof.

The dog would not desist from bark;
my sanity plunged into darkness.
Forevermore as time grinds slowly…
perpetual barking against my will.
