MY WAY

MY WAY

How I feel about poetry is a grand thing,
to read it, or write it makes my heart sing.
Sometimes I come here to read, not to write,
I look for others with God given sight.

Within many authors, I find a seed,
so I sit right down and I start to read.
I judge punctuation, spelling I check
but read just to edit, I’d be a wreck.

When I read your words, a message to find
and you plant it deeply, here in my mind.
If I see pictures when reading your write,
feel the heat of the day and coolness of night.

Then I have the things that matter to me,
when I give out stars and part with GPs.
Syllable count is important I know…
but oftentimes I just go with the flow.
