December is here—I’d rather have summer.
Something about December saddens me,
although for many it can warm the heart.
A Long December lingers faithfully,
wherein long, ebon nights perform their part.

I do not care if faithfulness holds true
when I am Back to December again.
I would rather bask beneath skies of blue,
or feel a temperate, refreshing rain.

I Can See the Sun in Late December;
there is Orion in the cold of night.
How pleasant is the heat that I remember,
and sunsets that take time to fade from sight.

  No Permanent December will I seek;
  instead a summer sun can warm my cheek.
