She started to realise a shortage of breath. Then her anxiety started to kick in. She couldn’t breathe and in a short amount of time everything was black. People around her started to wonder if she was fine. But by dark she hadn’t woken up. She lied there on the ground silent and unconscious. She lied there for days, nobody even bothered to wake her up. She just lied there silent as could be. People wondered if she was breathing or not, but they were to scared to wake her. Somebody, anybody could have woken her up. But nobody did and it turned out she died a few days after the incident. With nothing to do or to say. With nothing to eat she died because nobody could trust her. Everybody was terrified and didn’t know what to do. The teachers were absolutely devastated with what had happened. Willow was always a good kid. She always told the truth. Her last breath was on the day my great grandfather died. I wouldn’t say we were friends, more like acquaintances. She had the kind of familier laugh that everyone loved, so airy and cheerful. She dressed beautifully. With bright colors, pinks, purples, blues, even yellows, and she knew she looked beautiful. She had the beauty of a blossoming flower. Her flowy, long blonde hair curled naturally. She never wore makeup, but Willow thought she was worthless, that nobody cared about her. She had no friends. I knew she had depression but not this bad. Her parents never cared about her. I thought,”If I was there for her when nobody else was, would she still be alive?” Nobody I know liked liked her, except me. I love her. Loved her. For as long I could remember, I have loved her. But I never talked to her and that was a mistake. If I could go back in time I would. To tell her I love her and that I will never forget her name. It was November 15th, 2013, I was new to the school, I had just moved from Plymouth, Massachusetts, so I didn’t know anyone. I met a girl so pretty I awed. She had makeup and everything. Wearing a white dress with a floral designed belt. She looked absolutely beautiful. Her face was roundly shaped long blonde hair with freckles. “Hi I’m Willow,” she said with a smile, “what’s your name?” I fell in love then and there. “I’m Marley, it’s nice to meet you,” She smiled happily, “I’m new here, hopefully we can become good friends.” “I would love that, I’m also new here you’re the first person I’ve met.” Willow and I talked and sometimes we even got in trouble. All was good, but for a few weeks Willow left and I didn’t know what was wrong. She didn’t come back for the rest of the year. I got very worried and even depressed. I didn’t want to talk to anybody. Finally after a three months, she came back. She told me everything, but I knew she was keeping secrets. I didn’t talk to her, because I didn’t trust her anymore. They took Willow’s body away, thinking she died of natural causes, but only I knew she was murdered I saw somebody put some kind of poison in her food. The lunch ladies were the first to be suspected. On the friday she died, the lunch lady, Opal, was the person who gave Willow her food, but I knew she took her own lunch, so that was odd. I automatically knew it wasn’t her. I was done with the lunch ladies. I suspected her friends, Emma, Martha, and Ethel, they knew she took her lunch, but saw that she was putting a pill of some sort in her mouth before she ate. I didn’t think she would've taken her own life, but I knew that that pill had to do something about it. I asked to see the body, and looked at the mouth, I saw her that her fingertips were blue, and her mouth was open and swollen. So she was poisoned. I think she may have killed herself, but I’m not sure. I suspect every teacher at the school. I know you may think I’m crazy to think teachers would kill a beloved student, but you never know. “I have to ask you, exactly why you are trying to solve this case? They have already figured out she killed herself.” I glanced at Mr. Vivinsky, my principal. “She was my friend. I cared about her. Do you really think I wouldn’t want to find out who did this by to her?” He made eye contact,” I know you cared about her, but you shouldn’t do this to yourself. This town has changed a lot since her death, but you should just believe me when I say SHE KILLED HERSELF.” I walked right out of the office and went in the restroom and just cried. Thinking ‘If I had been there for her all these years, would she still be alive and healthy?’ I will not be persuaded by Mr. Vivinsky that she killed herself, it just doesn’t seem like herself. Everyone was accused of killing Willow. It’s as if the town is falling about, just like in that show Riverdale, this town has changed everything. The murderer of Willow Scott could be anywhere in town. I just don’t know who to believe anymore, but I know there is going to be a rainbow at the end whens it rains. Everyone is on edge with Willow. It only took police 15 days to figure out who killed her. She died of an overdose of cocaine. Somebody had put it in her food. When she took a drink of water, the long pill that Ethel, Martha, and Emma saw. Willow’s mother had died the year before, but she kept pills of cocaine. Willow’s dad wanted to live alone, so he snuck a pill into her chicken curry. When Willow pulled it out, she probably thought “Hmm, maybe if I take this I will feel better with my depression?” That’s when Ethel saw her take the pill swallowing it with water. The drug activated and dissolve leaving Willow to her death. Nobody wanted to wake her, but they knew she wasn’t alright. I was the only one to approach her, but she didn’t wake up. And she started to realize a shortage of breath. Then her anxiety started to kick in. She couldn’t breathe and in a short amount of time everything was black. Students, teachers and even parents around her started to wonder if she was fine. But by dark she hadn’t woken up. She lied there on the ground silent and unconscious. Somebody, anybody could have woken her up. But nobody did and it turned out she died a few days after the incident. With nothing to do or to say. With nothing to eat she died because nobody could trust her. Everybody was terrified and didn’t know what to do. I was the only one who cared about Willow Rae Smith. es |
