He tells only her.
“What’re we doing, Steve? Why this old place? And, what’s that thing?”

“Relax, Carla, I heard old man Dufus was a hoarder and has a lot of money hidden in there somewhere.”

“But, he died 10 years ago, there must’ve been a lot of people that already looked.”

“Yeah, and no ones found it yet. I’ve got this metal detector and I’m going to scan all the walls, floors and ceilings to see if it picks up anything. Maybe it‘s gold or silver. Those old farts collected stuff like that.”

“GAAHHH, Jesus! If I run into one more damned web I’m leaving.”

“Here’s a stick, wave it in front of you and it’ll get rid of them. Let’s start in the basement. Hold the light while I get my detector set up.”

“It’s even creepier down here.”

“I like it here, it’s quite and peaceful, usually. I’m lonely though.”

“Well I don’t, Steve.”

“What? You don’t what?”

“Like it down here, even if you do.”

“I don’t either, what gave you that idea?”

“You said it.”

“Did not.”

“I did.”

Who said that? Damn it, Carla, quit it.”

“It’s not me.”

“I’m Jonas.”

“IM LEAVING!”

“Wait, Carla.”

“What! How did you know my name?”

“Your friend said it. I’ve been stuck here for 76 years, I need help leaving. Dufus and his predecessors never found it.”

“What?”

“The money. I’ll tell you where it is if you’ll release me.”

“What do we have to do?”

“Just you, it has to be a woman. You have to kiss me.”

“That’s it? Okay, when will we know where it is?”

“As you release me.”

“Kiss a ghost? No way, Carla!”

“You don’t decide for me, Steve. Kiss me, Jonas.”

“Wait! ... He whispered it to you.”

“He did, didn’t he.”

“Not fair!”

“Hmmmm.”
