A short free-verse poem about the permanency of certain actions
Ink drips -- drops --
Down to the paper.
Splash, stain, smear.
Spoiled.
The paper will never be the same again.
You cannot retract the act,
Cannot undo what is now done,
Cannot fix what has been broken.
A permanent flaw, a fault;
A blot, a splotch;
Unable to be erased, effaced;
That one drop of ink sinks down
Into the paper.
