Problem Solved

“What do you mean by that?

“You know perfectly well what I mean.”

“No, I don’t...”

“Then you’re denser than I thought.”

“I’d be careful with such words if I were you...”

“Oh, is dense too big a word for you?”

“Actually, in the dictionary, the definition includes your name.”

“Well, the definition of ‘idiot’ includes your name!”

“What, you can’t even think up your own insults?”

“At least I think them up, you are one.”

“That was pretty good, add a have to... ‘At least I have to think them up.’”

“How did you get so good at this?”

“I think it’s called having a sour personality. I’m a natural.”

“Well, I wish I was good at it. Randy is giving me a really hard time, he always manages to make me look like a dork. I’ve tried just ignoring him but that makes me look like a sissy in front of everyone!”

“Well, you should be able to hold your own now, but keep practicing.”

Later that day: “Hey, Jace! Did that Randy give you a hard time today? How’d it go?”

“Not as planned.”

“What happened?”

“I left my math homework in my locker, so I was rushing back so I wouldn’t be late for class, and he caught me in the hall. He had all these kids around and wanted to make a big show, so he started in. But I was gonna be late for class! My mind just went blank. If I was late, I’d get detention!”

“And...”

“I punched him in the nose.”

“Did you get detention?”

“Two weeks. But, then... I don’t think Randy will be bothering me anymore.”
