A tribute to a life lost too young
A tribute to Siam Lee

Oh, the colour, that flows from the pixels that make-up the photograph of a woman so beautiful, its tangible.

I stare at the screen of my phone - I am enthralled. I swipe and every photograph takes me deeper into the soul of a woman I never knew.

The media is screaming.
Society is screaming.

Chaos.

The only person who has all the answers - is gone.

I swipe once more and I am drowning ; in a riptide of emotions, feeling each picture as if I had lived it with her.

But I didn't. Nobody did.

She is beautiful but this beauty is bone deep.
Her hair falls flawlessly around her, her body structured almost perfectly in each photograph, her freedom of self portrayed exquisitely.

She is to me a fine art...

But - her eyes; they speak, they scream, they long and they hold a story. One that will never be told.

When will we learn that we know not another by an image, as we know not a book by its cover.

When will we learn that as ones perception of a book is not the book itself, so then is the speculation of a story, not the story itself.

There is an author;
To each story.

The author to this story has left.

Therefore we are searching intently because as a society we must, for the truth, for the ending we need, for the plot we do not understand, for the twist we did not see coming.

Damned we are, if we do not instead sit back and realise, that this chaos is void - for the truth we seek will not come, the facts yes but the journey of a woman so fragile and young has left and her truth - with her.

I speak not of the tragedy that is the death of Siam - do not ridicule me for not screaming Justice, for I too want it as much as you do.

Understand however that I speak of her life, of a soul that breathed the same way we do, that felt, that dreamed, that hoped.

The colour seeps still. I find it difficult to move my eyes away from the image in front of me, my senses frantic. I close my eyes - I need not look at the photograph any longer. Her beautiful face imprinted in my mind.

The air around me seems thin, I breathe and feel the quiet pulse in my neck.

Life.

The tears that had formed a thin film, now resting on my cheeks.

I choose to see you Siam...in your elegance, in the tangibility of how real you portrayed your essence, I choose to see the soul behind its beautiful green doorways.

All that you were is not lost for you have left behind a trail of light that will uncover darkness. A footpath for our fellow humanity to stand up and be heard.

I choose to honour your embodiment of courage and strength, your freedom of self, your beauty - your Life.

You mattered and maybe to some - too late. Let it then be a lesson of love, for we are nothing without one another and together we are everything.

Namaste beautiful soul
