Get so high that a fellow could die.
SNOW DRIFTS

I guess about snow drifts is the story I'll tell.

I shoveled out my car and then down I fell,

Well, I broke my ankle and twisted my wrist,

I couldn't stand up so I wrote me a list.

Had a white hankie and a sharpie in my pocket,

Wrote help me please, quicker than a rocket,

Took a rawhide boot-lace, cut that thing in two

then tied it to my shovel, 'bout all I could do.

I'd been waving that thing for about a half hour,

when I heard a car stop cutting their engine power.

Someone coming down that path I had made so clean

but one look and I could tell this guy was mean.

I said, sure am glad to see ya, my name is Joe Brown,

He said “just thought I otter tell ya, signs upside down,”

Then he walked away, soon I heard him start his car,

But he spun out on the curve, didn't get very far.

Someone called a wrecker to pull that fellow out

and they saw my sign waving also heard my shout.

When the wind's blowing from the south and it shifts,

Nor-Easters in New England cause nasty snow drifts.
