Three Minute Read |
Tomorrow’s My Day Off “They told me this was the best set. It was a little more expensive...” “They lied to you...” Jane said. “Why would you say that?” Frank asked. “More expensive?” “Just a little! And they told me the instructions were much easier than with the less expensive ones.” Jane looked at the instructions, “They lied to you! These don’t even have words on them, all pictures!” “Sometimes that’s easier... help me lay these things out. There’s a list of parts, well... pictures...” After everything was laid out; “Some of these parts don’t show up anywhere in the instruction pictures...” Jane said. “They probably didn’t update the pictures when they got better parts.” “Of course, Mr. Optimistic. So, where do we start?” They started at picture number one and moved forward. Three hours later they were well and truly stuck. There were several pieces that seemed to go nowhere and the left cabinet was a good inch shorter than the right. “I’ll bring them back, but we have to take them apart even to get them out of the bathroom...” Frank said, totally discouraged. “I’ll have to do it tomorrow. How can they even sell something this cockeyed?” --- Back at the box store just before closing, Terry yelled over to Andy, “What happened to the box that was sitting on the corner here?” “We sold it this morning.” “What?! That’s where I was throwing all the loose pieces I found when I was cleaning out the storeroom. It wasn’t even sealed!” “Oops, when I saw the guy looking at bathroom sets, I noticed the box was open so I taped it shut.” “Well,” Terry said, “I don’t know what to say except I’m certainly glad tomorrow’s my day off. |
