An other worldly exploration of the Holidays
Thick frost-laden haze filled the single pane separating the hub from deathly chill of Pluto. Plumes of snow danced before her eyes, kicked up by the howling wind while the sugary sounds of snow drifts penetrated the thickly insulated walls.

Peisinoe watched the space opera from within the high tech igloo, steam pouring from her cup of coffee. Her eyes narrowed into a wistful squint.

Somewhere deep in the eternal night, the earth completed yet another journey around the sun yet only the stars were visible through the fog. Each blinking dot providing photons separated by the station's telescope into reds, greens, and yellows as a pair of strong shortwave antennas blasted various recordings into the void.

Peisinoe reached towards the sampling switch on the antenna control panel. With a click, holiday jazz and childhood memories drifted smoothly through the room. The sinewy smell of pine bows, feelings of deep anticipation, and the sweet taste of honey baked ham mixed smoothly with the bland ham and paste as she stared longingly into space.

Standing up, she walked to her bunk area in the claustrophobic living space. Flipping the wall calendar she circled December 25, 2150.

"One more year"

She slipped into a deep sleep.
