She buys a new bed.

“Wow! Now that’s a bed ... a clam shell for a mermaid.”

“Yeah? Well this mermaid owns it now. It’s something else, with built in WiFi, touch screen monitors, music, ...”

“Touch screens?”

“Well, yeah, you know, in case the other person wants it.”

“Other person?”

“Well ... we’ve been dating for three months and I thought it was time.”

“Time?”

“You don’t make things easy. Yes, time! As in it’s time to add in some of the physical aspects you don’t seem to interested in.”

“Physical aspects? God, Jill, you sound like a college professor.”

“I am, in physics, remember? You teach there too.”

“Yeah, but I’m not tenured.”

“You will be, David. It takes time for those old farts to decide to do anything.”

“In the mean time, about those physical aspects. Any particular thing in mind? Physics-ly speaking.”

“Yeah, take your clothes off. Leave your underwear on.”

“My clothes? Off? Oh, I see. That is the top of a beautiful, red bikini, right?”

“Hurry up, you fool, I’m cold.”

“Here I come. Ohh, I like these blankets. I particularly like cuddling too.”

“Close.”

“I took them off ... oh, it’s voice controlled. Neat, now what?”

“On your back. Two users, done. It takes a couple minutes to get used to typing like that. Radio, Beethoven, Ode to Joy, done.”

“You’re amazing, Jill.”

“Yes, I am. Dim lights, done ... lower ... done. Now, lets talk.”

“What if I need the bathroom?”

“Say it and it’ll open. Now, Lets Talk means having a meaningful discussion.”

“The bathroom is meaningful.”

“Talk to me!”

“Jill, I would love to spend a lot of time with you, maybe forty or so years?”

“David, you’re an idiot, but I think I’m in love with this one. Close door, Lights off, done! Come here.”

“I love you, Jill ...”
