I lost my dad ten years ago to cancer. Sometimes my feelings just pour out.

Daddy Please Don't Go!

I miss him my dad. I begged him, daddy please don't go! I held his hand tight and with all of my might I tried to keep him close, daddy please don't go! It wasn't enough and I felt him slip away, taking with him my heart, for surely it shattered the day, the hour, the minute, the second, I felt his spirit depart, daddy please don't go! How can I ever live without you, your smile, your laughter, your love? You were the one man I thought would never abandon me, would never let me down, daddy please don't go! I know he's in a wonderful place with the God that he served, the Brother who saved his soul, and the Spirit who put such joy and love in his heart, but still I am selfish, and I wished he could have stayed, daddy please don't go! I try to be your legacy, I try to remember what you taught me, I try so hard because I was, I am and always will be daddy's girl, and I wanted so much to be like you, to make you proud, daddy please don't go! Daddy I miss you so!
