Magic. Dragons. That's all you need to know.
A teen stood on the side of a road. To any normal person, they would seem lost. But this was no normal person. They had powers beyond comprehension, their eyes glistening pools in the moonlight. Their hair had caught a slight breeze and was flying behind them, as well as, rustling their simple clothes.

If you had to guess the teen’s gender, it would be a waste as they were too feminine to be male, but too masculine to be female. If asked, the teen couldn’t tell you either.

“Know what I think, Alex?” A voice pipes up. They hum in acknowledgment.

“He probably chickened out,” A girl says, coming to stand beside Alex. Her eyes glowed brighter as she looked at her partner, the wind picking up once again. Alex smiles.

“What are you thinking, my Lilly?”Lilly blushes as the conversation is now about her. She had never been one for attention anyway, choosing to stay on the sidelines most of the time.

“It’s nothing. When did Noah say he would be here exactly?” Alex raises an eyebrow.

“You’re stalling, aren’t you?” Lilly smiles.

“You got me, Love.” Lilly puts an arm around their shoulders and presses a quick kiss to their temple. Alex smiles at the action.

“Alex? Lilly?” A male voice says. The couple looks at him.
“Do you have it?” They ask, eagerly as their girlfriend shakes her head jokingly.

He takes a box out of his bag. It was small with circular patterns that seemed to glow silver. Inside, they could see a small locket necklace.

To any mortal eye, it was just a necklace. To Alex, it was the key to their destiny as an elemental. It had been crafted in celestial gold and cooled in the waters of the Acheron. In the middle, was a small crystal that could put diamonds to shame.

Alex takes it out of the box and puts it around their neck, clasping it together.

“What did you say it was again?” Noah asks.

“To help control a new elemental’s powers. Teaches them how to use it gradually. At least, that’s what my mom told me,” they say.

Noah nods at the information.

“So you have powers now?” Lilly asks. They look up from the necklace.

“I’ve always had powers, but they are locked until I turn 18.” They hold out their palm and flames erupt, flickering lightly when they get it under control. “I can harness natural elements like fire, water, earth, air, and other things. It’s just a matter of learning how to control those powers. Well, mastering them in my case.”

The others stay quiet.

“The sun’s coming up, Alex. We need to get home,“ Lilly says. They nod and walk back towards the forest. Lilly quickly follows.

“You okay, Lilly?“Alex asks.

“Yeah. It’s just a lot to process. My significant other has powers and is a chosen one of their people. I’m just normal. I don’t have special powers."

They stop and face their girlfriend.

“You aren’t normal, My Flower. You’re mine and I love you,“They say, eyes sparkling with love and desire in the sunrise. It made them look like the child they never got to be. They smile at Lilly.“Don’t ever think that you aren’t special because you are. And that’s one of the reasons I love you.” Lilly smiles.

“And why else do you love me?” She asks, blushing.

Then the house comes into view.

“Race you?” They ask then take off.

“Hey! You didn’t answer my question!” Lilly yells as she runs to keep up with them.

“You never answered my question, Love,” She says as they walk into their shared bungalow. Alex blushes.

“Honestly, for me, It was love at first sight. Your flower crown was falling off to the side and your laugh was contagious. Your hair looked like strands of gold when they caught the sun and your eyes... I had no words to describe them.

“And when you looked at me... I was done for. I know this sounds cheesy, but it’s true. I-” They were interrupted when Lilly pressed her lips to theirs.

The small kiss turned into a heated make-out before the two pulled apart. Alex blushes heavily and tries to hide their face. Lilly chuckles and takes Alex’s hands in hers.

“Please don’t cover up your beautiful face, Love.” Alex keeps blushing. She kisses Alex again, and it turns into another make-out session.

Lilly’s hands end up on Alex’s hips within a few minutes after and they are powerless against the breathtakingly beautiful girl in front of them. Lilly pulls away and rests her forehead against her partner’s, both of them breathing heavily.

“Can I ask you something, Flower Child?” Alex says. Lilly hums in agreement.

“Have you ever thought about the future? Like kids? Marriage? Stuff like that?” They ask. Lilly looks at them.

“I’ve always wanted to get married someday, but I haven’t thought about kids. But I guess it would be nice to have a few little ones running around,” Lilly admits. “What about you?”

“I wanted to get married, too. And a kid or two.“They smile.

“Maybe we could adopt after the wedding?” Lilly chuckles.

“Are you proposing to me?” They smile.

“Maybe,” They say as they lay down on the bed.

Lilly shakes her head, smiling as she lays down beside her lover.

“I love you, Angel.”

“I love you too, Flower Child.”
