Bernard Beneath the fallen aspen log There lived a crusty, gnarly frog. Big froggy feet, big froggy eyes, This frog was twice the normal size! But, hidden there under his skin There was a great huge heart within, Beating heartbeats, so loud and hard- This frog was once a well-known bard! Bard, or not, he croaked and sang Tenor notes in a loud harangue. Bernard, was this big froggy’s name. Temerity was his claim to fame. Ben, a wizard, one day, he crossed, To be a frog, was what this cost. Bernard, a frog he would remain Till true love’s tender kiss, he’d gain. Belinda, a wee lovely girl Thought a walk would be a great whirl. Before too long she saw a frog Teetering on a fallen log. Bombastically, this froggy sang To all who heard, his voice rang. But this girl shrieked and ran away, The frog was destined e’er to stay Beneath the fallen aspen log To be a crusty, gnarly frog. Bizarre, I know, but yet ‘tis true This tale as I have shared with you. Bernard, waits there until this day True love has never come his way. |
