Colors of Morning

Dawn's bright canvas hangs
above dark
and silent mountains.

In deep canyons,
painted by the first rays of morning,
creatures wake,
stretch,
and intone their gratitude
for another day of life.

The song
of a waterfall flowing
into a cold mountain stream echoes
through a stoney gorge.

Nature's easel,
blank before the first light of day,
now holds a spectrum
of emotions.

Light's brush,
heavy with the colors of life,
transforms
the dull tones of night
into a rainbow
of sparkling beauty.
