Your authentic opinion on the idea of being transracial
Poll Question:
By now, many of us are aware of the infamous Rachel Dolezal. She was a prior NAACP president in Virginia. Rising to stardom for defending the rights of minorities and police brutality, she was later outed for being a fraud. She had everyone, including myself, under the impression she was an African American woman. Her biological parents stepped up and turned out to be, you guessed it... White! Once confonted with this lie, she evolved a new term. "transracial". Transracial, in layman's terms, is being born into one race but having thoughts of belonging to another race or ethnic group. I, for one, do not buy it. She would never know how it feels to be a black woman and can never walk a mile in our shoes. Not to mention, I couldn't go out and represent myself as a white woman if I bleached my skin and dyed my hair blonde. The mere thought of someone, someone who has never had the struggle of being judged because of your melanin or texture of hair, comparing their story to one of ours is disgusting. With this brief decsription and background, I would love to know your thoughts. What is your opinion here? Can you really belong to another race?
Poll Options:
I AGREE with Rachel and the idea of being transracial.
I DISAGREE with Rachael and there is no such thing as transracism.
I AM INDIFFERENT towards Rachel and feel people can be who they want to be.
I DISAGREE entirely and believe there is one race and no one should be divided.
