Kevin Freeman
19, College Sophomore at Lakelund University in Tar Flats, Oklahoma, an oil town in southeastern Oklahoma. He's majoring in English. After he came out, his parents disowned him and haven't spoken to him since. He jogs every morning. He played the saxophone in high school in OKC and still plays on occasion. Loves Kenny G. He's borderline OCD, follows a rigid schedule and is a neat freak.



Sam Miyamoto
Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma; third generation Japanese-American. Mother was an aeronautical engineering professor and father was a sculptor, both now retired and living in Reno, Nevada. Sam is the only homicide detective in Tar Flats. He's gay, but not out except for occasional weekends when he goes clubbing in Oklahoma City. He has a BS in Criminal Science from Northeastern State University in Talequah and an MA in Sociology from Lakelund University. He enjoys long-distance bike rides through the Ouachita Mountain trails.
