When We Were Young we wandered through Leaves of Grass,
accompanied by Lad, a Dog
and a scar-faced Man Who Laughs.
We went on Journeys Through Bookland
riding upon Gaudenzia, our palomino horse
meandering down to Our Favorite Place Through the Looking Glass, of course.
David Copperfield and I - and yes, that was his name -
would be Guided Home by The Crystal Star to feast on Stone Soup cooked on The Nurnburg Stove
near A Gathering of Blue flowers in an antique Mason Jar.
We'd retire to the library, get lost in yet another book--
you may find us there, you have only but to look!
