The second part to Destiny.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I said brushing the dirt off my clothes.
"Good. We should get to our village. By the way, I'm Carter." Carter said extending out his hand.
"Jacob." I said shaking his hand.
"Jacob, this is my brother, Chase." Carter said putting his hand on his brother's shoulder. "Follow us. The village isn't far from here."
We traveled far for about half an hour, when we came upon a beautiful village. The houses were made from wood and a bright red fire was burning in the middle of the villiage. A few horses were tied to some wooden posts and men who looked like warriors, we're telling stories to some children.
"It's beautiful." I breathed.
"Yes it is." Carter said. "So let's go. You have to meet the tribe and the cheif. We have been longing for your presence."
We traveled down to the village and a man of big stature walked up to me. His hair was as black as night and a bright red scar crossed his eye. It was impossible to miss, for it stuck out on his light completed skin.
"You must be the boy from the west wood. Am I correct?" He said, his voice like a bomb.
"Yes sir." I managed to let out.
He was towering over me like a giant and stared at me with his chocolate brown eyes.
"Come with me." He boomed, walking into a wooden house. "Please sit." He said motioning to a wooden stool.
I took a seat and he sighed heavily.
"Your father, Camden, was a brave warrior." He said, his tone undefinable.
"You knew my father?" I asked with disbelief.
"Yes, he was actually my brother. He died in battle against the manticores. This forest used to be crawling with those disgraceful creatures, until we killed a lot of them off.
I sat there quietly, hanging on to every word he said, as if he were saying his dying requests. He explained to me how my father didn't wish to send my mother and I to the west wood, but it was to keep us safe for the war to come.
